Born in Sudan and raised in Bradford since the age of 1, Asma Elbadawi has gone from strength to strength after leaving the secondary school where she struggled dyslexia. With an MA in Visual Arts, a Basketball career where she has been the first to successfully campaign for FIBA to lift the ban on the hijab and a spoken word poet winning the BBC Radio 1Xtra’s ‘Words First’ competition in 2015, it is an understatement to say that Asma is an amazing role model for those determined to achieve their aspirations.
